My Creative Process
My work explores the intersection of beauty and drama, crafting immersive soundscapes and visual worlds that invite audiences on journeys filled with emotion and intensity - from the subtlest of gestures to powerful, climactic moments.
As a composer, sound artist, digital painter and video artist, I paint and sculpt with music, sound and image.
Each creation begins with a fragment of an idea. A spark of inspiration might come from a striking image, a work of art, a place, a snippet of sound, the marvels of science, or a deeply felt emotion. From these beginnings, I strive to realise dramatic, fantastical landscapes of sculptured sound and image.
I often visualise the piece within a performance space - a concert hall, theatre, or exhibition - allowing this imagined setting to guide the narrative and structure. With a clear form in mind, I build a sonic and visual palette, letting the creative process evolve organically.
I continuously experiment with new technologies and techniques, exploring sonic and visual transformations that align with the concept of each piece. For me, all sound is music, and all music is sound - raw material to be shaped into sonic paintings. My goal is to create works with an inherent unity, where vibrant dynamism and fluent lines merge into a cohesive whole.
At the heart of my practice is a commitment to communication. I aim to forge emotional connections with audiences, evoking joy, pain, wonder, or even playfulness. While my processes may be complex, I strive for accessibility, ensuring my work transcends the tools and technologies that bring it to life.
Ultimately, each piece must feel organic and cohesive, taking the listener or viewer on a believable yet unexpected journey.
